General Ledger Associate
Position Overview
The General Ledger (GL) Associate is responsible for applying accounting principles to reconcile accounts and complete operational accounting functions with the General Ledger and New Market (DK+) Initiatives. This person will help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and resolution of problems in a fast-paced team environment. This individual must have strong Excel experience to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
Must be able to...
- Ensuring that transactions of a business have been properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting process
- Assist with monthly financial statements and reports
- Analyze and explain variances in the financial results as compared to prior periods
- Assist with monthly journal entries and related supporting documentation
- Ensure accounting records are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Month-end and year-end closing
- Monthly expense variance analysis
- Assist with the preparation of other reports
- Assist with year-end audits preparation and financial analysis
- Communicate frequently with management to report accounting or other issues that may impact the timeliness and/or reliability of financial results
- Evaluate financial processes and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and accuracy

- May take on additional responsibilities from Accounting & Finance leadership
- May participates on cross-functional working teams or tasks forces
- May test system updates and applications
- May participate in the creation of training & documentation of processes as well as the facilitation of training
- May travel - internationally and|or domestically - as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
- 2-year degree in Accounting, business or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Typically, 2+ years of Digi-Key or industry experience in Finance, Accounting or other relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of the various functions of Digi-Key and the industry Digi-Key operates in
- Strong knowledge of Digi-Key brand and its principles
- Expert user of Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, P&L, and the balance sheet
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate with varied levels of employees
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly adaptable; possesses a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to establish and contribute to a high degree of teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups
- Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
- Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body

- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
