Summary of Role

The Certification Representative assures organic integrity of all ingredients and processing facilities by maintaining accurate and up to date files of organic certificates of existing and new processors, products, and ingredients. Additionally, the Certification Representative assists our staff to facilitate organic, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO project, and Chinese certifications for the business and co-processors. This role will assist in updating organic, Kosher, and Halal handling plans for new products, new private label accounts, changes in formulations, packaging changes, and plant onboarding tasks. They will work with other certification staff to obtain and maintain plant certifications, including organic, Kosher, Halal and other designations. This position reports to the Certification Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Manage Tracegains, our document system for ingredient suppliers and copackers
* Assist with maintaining current regulatory compliance documentation for all plants, ingredient suppliers, and private label accounts
* Assist with updating Kosher, Halal, and organic plans as necessary
* Facilitate certification meetings and document plant onboard timelines/needs
* Support additional verifications such as Chinese certification
* Lead Halal certification for the business and co-packers

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist with our annual organic inspection and others as assigned
* Participate in key business meetings and report back to the group
* Other duties as assigned by Director, Senior Director, or VP of Quality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Minimum of High School degree required
* Working knowledge of computers, databases, and Microsoft Office required
* Ability to be open minded, collaborative, and positive required
* Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required
* Analytical and attention to detail skills required
* One year of experience in organic agriculture preferred
* Knowledge of National Organic Program (NOP) rule preferred
* Familiarity with processing plants, organic, Kosher, and Halal preferred
