Job Details
This position is responsible for the Material Spend budget setting and analysis, Evaluating Make/Buy Decisions, ad hoc analysis related to Materials/Sourcing, monthly bill of materials analysis, Long Range Plan and Annual Operating Plan responsibilities, along with the annual standard cost setting and analysis.
This position has regional cost accounting responsibility as well.
Role & Responsibility
Monitor Plan Performance
- Provide management with analysis on Material Spend and Variances to Forecast/AOP
- Develop and analyze monthly Materials forecast (both Profit & Losses and inventory), annual operating plan and 5 year strategic plan.
- Insure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
Materials Spending Management
- Partner with Sourcing Team to communicate and facilitate the achievement of the financial goals.
- Analyze capital spending projects via direct costing and make recommendations on make vs. buy decisions.
- Manage process for Outsource/Insource of work from Manufacturing plants, including approval hierarchy, review of financials, and reporting of financial impacts
- Partner with Sourcing Team to review Materials Trends
- Complete monthly detailed forecast by Vendor for Material Price Variance
- Complete monthly detailed forecast by Vendor for Exchange Price Variance
- Complete full Reconciliation of Actual Material Price Variance in comparison to Forecasted Variance.
- Establish annual Material Costs by working with Sourcing team. Share Finalized Materials cost changes with Sourcing Management and Plant Management
- Ad hoc analysis to Sourcing VP
- Support Consolidating Financial information
Staff Management
- Mentor regional cost accounting staff on Materials Management
Job Requirement
- Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience Required: 5-10 years
- Travel Required:
- Knowledge of financial accounting, cycle counting, physical inventory, & cost accounting.
- Advanced computer skills (Excel).
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbally and in written form.
- Conversation skills in English.
- CPA/MBA/CMA preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a standard cost system (Oracle preferred).

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?
•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
