Job you will do

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Paraprofessional in the National Tax Office might include the following:
  • Work with spreadsheets and track data in a database.
  • Assist partners, managers and staff with all office activities.
  • Answer phones with professionalism, greet clients, and coordinate staff meetings, conference calls and webcasts.
  • Process tax returns.
  • Make outbound prospecting calls to businesses with tax liens.
  • Identify the root of the prospect's tax problem by asking questions and listening to the prospect's responses.
  • Greet visiting clients and direct them to the correct person.
  • Compose, organize and type routine correspondence and IRS filings including power of attorney forms, memos, letters and reports.
  • Gather client’s financial information
  • Prepare IRS Collection Information Statements based on information provided by the client
  • Perform miscellaneous scanning, filing, faxing and copying duties as needed
  • Pick up additional administrative responsibilities when needed.
  • Qualify prospects for our various services.
  • Set appointments or transferring prospective clients to Partner, Manager, or Senior Associate.
  • Provide marketing support for the Tax Controversy team.
  • Assist with additional marketing campaigns.
  • Provide administrative support for internal marketing items.
  • Performs additional marketing administrative duties as assigned by manager. 

Training for specific tasks will include:
  • Client time and billing
  • Filing protests and responses to taxing authorities
  • Evaluation and sorting of incoming tax notices and correspondence

Who You Are
  • You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You love collaborating and being part of a team but also enjoy working alone with limited supervision.
  • In addition to all of this, you have a high school diploma and 2 years of past administrative support experience.
  • You have exceptional phone etiquette and sales skills.
  • You are (preferably) knowledgeable of tax, accounting and/or tax resolution.
  • You are a self-starter and are able to work independently.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
  • You have strong organizational/follow-up skills.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
