OUR COMPANY

10 Missions Media is a fast-paced and quickly growing print and digital media company, producing established, industry-leading national business publications (ADAPT, Auto Service Professionals, FenderBender, Ratchet+Wrench, Modern Tire Dealer, MWACA Magazine, and National Oil and Lube News), as well as live events, podcasts, webinars and more. Located in the Hamline Midway neighborhood of St. Paul, our modern workspace (located on public bus routes and near the Green Line) encourages collaboration and personal development among our tight-knit team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to add a talented and motivated journalist to join our award-winning editorial team as the editor of FenderBender, serving a monthly print audience of roughly 40,000 business owners and operators nationwide. The editor for FenderBender is responsible for the execution of all content and projects associated with the FenderBender brand. While working under the oversight of the editorial director, the editor acts as the champion for the brand in numerous ways: producing the magazine's most important pieces, acting as the face of the brand, managing the brand's biggest projects, overseeing production, and spearheading the evolution of the brand and its content. The editor works to push the brand forward and improve the day-to-day work produced, whether through producing a print publication, creating digital products, or assisting with live events.

Though our publications serve readers in the automotive industry, this position does not require any automotive or technical knowledge. These are business publications, focused on providing reader service and impacting the operations, staff and lives of our readers.

Six-Month Expectations

  • Develop keen grasp of the FenderBender brand voice and produce high-quality content.
  • Ability to become viewed as the "expert" on the industry and the clear face of the brand.
  • Display clear communication and timely completion of tasks for FenderBender as a whole.
  • Active and meaningful participation, understanding and engagement in FenderBender-related meetings, from both an editorial and larger brand perspective.

Twelve-Plus Month Expectations

  • Identify and tackle key areas of white space in our content, thus expanding the brand to include new products and resources.
  • Evaluate FenderBender's role in the industry and continue to maintain key relationships in the industry.
  • Play a large and meaningful role in the content creation and execution of the events.
  • Autonomously and effectively work with members of the edit, art, sales, events and marketing teams to produce a cohesive and effective product.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in business journalism
  • A B.A. in journalism, English, business or a related field
  • The ability to self-direct, work both independently and as part of a team, and meet deadlines
  • Interest in digital media
