As we strive to deliver on our mission, we will do this by adhering to our values of trust, integrity, accountability, commitment, and kindness.Come join our Woodlyn Heights team as the Assistant Director of Nursing Services in this rewarding and prospective position!General Purpose:Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to residents and shares responsibility for daily clinical operations.Essential Job Functions:* Oversees the nursing staff for the provision of quality and appropriate resident / patient care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards.* Schedules and/or performs rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.* Maintains administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the proper charting and documentation of care, medications, and treatments.* Assists with hiring nursing staff, oversees the provision of orientation and training, and retains qualified staff to carry out nursing services.* Reviews employee performance and conducts periodic performance appraisals in a timely manner.* Assists with developing and implementing the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident and patient population.* Review and adhere to departmental budget.* Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services to build relationships with internal and external prospects, customers, families, and care providers.* Evaluate current and potential residents and clients to determine and maintain facilitys ability to provide the appropriate level of care.* Manages clinical aspects of state or federal government survey processes.* Participates in daily Interdisciplinary meetings and other community meetings including Safety Committee and Quality Improvement.* Assists with the oversight of the Resident Assessment process for accuracy and attends care planning conferences periodically to determine compliance with care planning guidelines.* Participates in the collection, review, and analysis of clinical outcome data and determines trends. Brings identified concerns to the Quality Improvement committee for development of appropriate plans of action.* Must be adaptable, flexible to changes, and able to prioritize and organize work efficiently to accomplish workload within time allotted.* Maintain a positive attitude in relation to customer service program.* Complies with established safety rules and regulations.* Promptly reports accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment to supervisor.* Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents rights.* Abides by the facilitys policies, procedures and practices.* Participates in and supports Quality efforts throughout the facility.* Attends meetings and mandatory in-services.* Knowledge and adherence to safety/disaster preparedness plan.* All other duties as needed.Qualifications:* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.* Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse.* Minimum of two years management or supervisory experience in long-term or acute care is preferred.* Restorative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred.* Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, residents families and employees.* Must possess proficient computer skills, including email use.* Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.* Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
