We also care about the health, wellbeing, and safety of our employees and promote a positive work-life balance with a flexible work environment.A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A RESIDENTIAL SERVICE ASSOCIATE / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / CAREGIVERAs an entry-level part-time Residential Service Associate / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver, you get to facilitate your adult clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live with independence and dignity in the community. With up to four roommates living in a home under a true roommate arrangement, the feeling is family-like, rather than institutional. And, since you work with the same limited number of clients on a regular basis, you get to know them very well. You feel great about facilitating a full life for these individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that you have the privilege to work with!You do more than just assist with medications, meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support your clients in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies. You help them stay healthy in all areas by making sure that they are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging their independence as much as possible.You also ensure that their homes are safe environments, reducing the likelihood of accidents and promoting a timely response to illness as you monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. You are meticulous about reporting any changes or concerns promptly. You are also an advocate who ensures that their rights are respected at all times and that they aren't abused or neglected in any way. It's a good thing that you are so dependable, as their health and safety depends on you showing up for each and every shift.QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RESIDENTIAL SERVICE ASSOCIATE / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / CAREGIVERAt least 18 years of ageNegative TB skin test (provided by Aptiv)Ability to pass a background testA valid driver's license and good driving recordReliable transportation with valid registration and up-to-date auto insuranceAny previous experience is a plus but not required.
