A Controls Designer to be responsible for the primary electrical/controls systems design of capital equipment working in collaboration with the project leader and other team members.
Required:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and at least 3 years of experience (Associates degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct controls design and programming experience is also acceptable.).
Direct experience in machine control systems design/engineering for industrial process equipment applications.
Established electrical engineering and control system design ability including: Schematics, PLC and I/O layouts, panel and circuit layouts, power distribution systems and P. & I.D. control loop development.
PLC programming experience on multiple platforms, Allen-Bradley hardware platforms, along with H.M.I. programming and configuration experience.
Ability and desire to cultivate positive relationships with customers, key suppliers and service providers.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical support including electrical controls system design and programming of PLC/HMI/Drives as needed for capital equipment projects.
Assist with the creation and development of machine control design solutions, specifications and to answer technical questions as required.
Use AutoCAD Electrical to create schematic drawings and control systems designs as needed.
Create, edit and troubleshoot PLC, HMI and Drive Controller programming for safe and efficient machine operations as needed.
Create and check drawings for manufacturing as required.
Assist with part specification / selection, gathering of supplier quotes, and material purchase requisitions during projects.
Help to develop and maintain professional working relationships with company team, customers, and suppliers.
Assist with the development and publishing of all required engineering documentation including operation manuals, maintenance manuals, recommended spare parts lists, etc.
Pay Range: $60k/yr. - $75k/yr. DOE
