About the Job
The Bookkeeper' s main duty is to maintain and improve the accounting and finance department. This is a contract-to-hire role with a great opportunity to continue learning and taking on new responsibilities as the position evolves. Duties in this role will include:

Assisting in preparing budgets and forecasts, including regular financial reports and updates to the management team
Collaborating with 3rd party accounting firms to provide financial analysis and recommendations for management team
Monitoring benchmarks used to measure company performance and evaluating findings
Monitoring general ledger entries and account corrections as necessary
Reviewing payroll, sales tax, Accounts Payable, and other routine internal and external reporting processes
Reconciling bank accounts, cash accounts, general ledger and credit card statements monthly, producing preliminary bank financials and bank collateral statements.
Preparing annual reports and reconciliation for 401K, HSA, payroll taxes, and other stately and federally required reports
Staying apprised of all compliance and reporting laws and submitting required reports and forms.
Other duties as assigned

About You

A Bachelor' s Degree or higher in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional accounting experience, or manufacturing and/or small business bookkeeping experience
Highest degree of attention to detail and reliability
Knowledge of accounting practices and principles, GAAP, and regulatory processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Driver' s license and/or ability to travel locally.
