Position Description & Details:

The Business Development Coordinator will support the College of Engineering (Industrial & Manufacturing department) and the College of Science and Mathematics (Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials) to promote successful proposal development and the administration of a National Science Foundation Center (CB2- Center for Bioplastics and Biocomposites).

Responsibilities:

Tasks involved would include:
  • Proposal submission support - budget development, confirm compliance, collecting and formatting standard components, uploading documents.
  • Support recruitment of potential members, identify potential members, organize visits and meetings with potential members.
  • Develop marketing materials.
  • Order research materials and supplies for department and faculty
  • Assist faculty with grant expenditure planning and projections.
  • Continue to develop and implement application process for grant awards administered by CB2, IME and the Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials.
  • Coordinate receipt of applications and follow-up with applicants.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of CB2 capabilities and functions to assist in connecting industry with researchers.
  • Research background of companies and other universities as part of due diligence process.
  • Plan and coordinate activities related to CB2 events, such as the annual spring and fall meetings.
  • Assist in proofreading and editing proposals.
  • Execute meetings, assist in developing resources, tools, training sessions and materials to broadly facilitate interactions with industries.
  • Maintain databases to track activities and insure reliability of data for reporting purposes.
  • Develop reports for CB2 relating to activity, events, outcomes and/or other metrics as needed.
  • Maintain website for CB2
  • Maintain contact lists

Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, regular NDSU office hours

Advertised Salary:

$48,000/ year based upon experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in business, office administration, or other related fields of study or STEM with administration experience.
  • Minimum of two years of directly related experience in an administrative role.
  • Valid Driver's license required - some travel required.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft office.
  • Experience working with databases & spreadsheets
  • Good interpersonal, oral & written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS plus 2 years of directly related business experience.
  • Experience working with grant proposals and agreements.
  • Experience working in Business Development
