Meter Data Management Analyst

Otter Tail Power Company will be replacing our electric meter fleet with smart meters, and this will provide an opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Meter Data Management (MDM) Analyst in Fergus Falls, MN.

This role will have the primary responsibility to operate and maintain the MDM system, perform data analysis on electric power data, produce reports for uses by engineering, operations, and customer needs. The role will require daily monitoring, maintenance, and performance assessment of this new system to ensure energy usage data is validate and alerts are processed accurately. This role will then provide guidance to others to resolve issues and improve performance.  

For this role, we prefer a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience in Metering Data Management (MDM) Systems and the overall Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system, data analytics or a closely related field. Five years of experience in data architecture and archiving is preferred. Highly desirable to have experience with electric utility rates and billing processes, computer systems analysis and application support. Knowledge of electrical meters and electrical distribution systems and operations is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; development and programming, reporting and problem-solving skills; and analytical and time management skills; and the ability to manage various application environments.
