Building Official

Salary Range: $67,360 - $91,135/year.

GENERAL DUTIES:
Ensures compliance with the State Building and Fire Codes. Involves working with a wide variety of individuals in applying regulations having significant economic impact to the city, as well as general safety concerns for citizens.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualifications: Two years of vocational or technical school in related field. Experience: Limited Building Official Certification or ability to obtain within 8 months, five years of experience in the construction industry or equivalent combination of experience and education, qualifying for points towards meeting certification prerequisites. Must have valid drivers' license.
