TECHNICAL AUTOMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER, FIELD-BASED (MIDWEST)

  • THIS POSITION CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN THE MIDWESTERN U.S. FOR REGIONAL TRAVEL


POSITION PURPOSE
Support automation runoff and ensure successful transfer of plant automation from engineering commissioning to operational ownership. Ensure strong technical systems processes and programs are established, in both CHEP services and 3rd party management groups, to ensure ongoing excellence without deterioration.


Manage adherence to CHEP's engineering standards, and support revision to standards. Ensure service centers have the correct skills and systems to allow efficient operation & maintenance of equipment. Lead the deployment of measurement systems for the tracking and continuous improvement of equipment and operational performance.


MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
??? Ensure automation projects meet initial production ramp schedules and achieve budgeted performance objectives.
??? Provide technical leadership for process optimization in controls (PLCs), networking, electrical and mechanical standards.
??? Ensure Risk Assessment programs are established, and pedestrian segregation assessments are conducted prior to installation.
??? Support Process Engineering in the development and execution of Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects.
??? Support pre-installation site assessments and conduct technical skills assessment at sites prior to equipment installation.
??? Ensure training program is provided and executed for the development of site leadership, production operatives, and maintenance staff.
??? Support Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification to ensure smooth transition from Engineering installation to Operational ownership.
??? Support deployment of preventive & predictive maintenance and spare parts systems.
??? Lead programs to monitor and improve PPH, Process Reliability, MTBF and MTTR on equipment across the network.
??? Lead the implementation of a Quality Operating System (QOS) to ensure key actions are assigned to drive performance optimization.
??? Verify Daily Management System (DMS) is provided and utilized to drive continuous improvement of operational performance.
??? Provide site technical support immediately following installation.

QUALIFICATIONS
??? BS in technical discipline

Desirable Qualifications:
??? BS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering


EXPERIENCE
??? 5 years in an automation environment with proven skills in PLC and controls equipment.
??? Plant floor leadership
??? Extensive experience of working in a health and safety conscious environment
