Responsible for facilities work at the Kohl Center, LaBahn Ice Arena, Goodman complex, and McClimon complex including Men's Basketball events, Hockey events, Volleyball events, Softball events, Soccer events, WIAA and special high school events, concerts, graduations and other events. Other duties include the general maintenance of all building systems as well as arena seats, locker rooms, therapy pools, meeting rooms, concession areas, scoreboard equipment, etc. Additional maintenance duties include grounds activities such as snow removal and lawn care. General knowledge of methods, materials and equipment in building construction and remodeling 2. Knowledge of applicable safety procedures. 3. Knowledge of health and safety codes applicable to building and grounds. 4. Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal building and grounds regulations. 5. Knowledge of NCAA, BigTen, WCHA and WIAA ground rules, regulations and policies. 6. Knowledge of record and reporting systems. 7. Basic knowledge of turf grass management. 8. Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs. 9. Trained in operating a forklift. * Ability to become certified 10. Experience maintaining water quality and chemical levels in pools. * Ability to obtain Pool & Spa Operator Certification 11. Ability to climb and work in high places using a ladder. 12. This position requires work hours in excess of the normal work shift (nights, holidays, and weekends). 13. Must possess or have the ability to acquire prior to appointment, a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and meet UW Risk Management Driving Standards. Department(s): A427900-INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS/FACILITIES MAINT/STADIUM Work Schedule: 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with evenings, weekends and holidays as required by events.
