Our client, a heavy and civil contractor that is a well-respected contractor in the local construction industry, is now seeking a Surveyor to add to their team!

Specializing in the construction of roadways, bridges, water and sewer, earthwork excavation and embankment construction, structural concrete, and other heavy and civil engineering construction projects.

Duties:
???Perform earthwork quantity takeoffs during bid time using Trimble software
???Communicate with owners, engineers and general contractors regarding project plans and control
???Create 3D GPS models for projects, or obtain them from 3rd party sources
???Perform pre-construction topographic surveys as needed
???Set up new projects with site localization, verify 3D model layout in the field and provide initial staking
???Ensure equipment and operators are set up correctly prior to start of project
???Troubleshoot and correct issues with survey or machine control equipment as required
???Perform as-built topographic surveys as needed and material quantities
???Occasionally perform deed research, staking property boundaries, obtaining public information, in house drawings and working plans.

???5 + years' Experience in construction surveying & staking including GPS
???Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project
???Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
???Exceptional organizational skills both electronically and with hard file documents
???Interest in the field of construction utilizing state of the art technology.
???Prior construction layout or earthwork experience and more than 5 years of relevant work experience in residential and commercial construction.
???Machine control experience, or extreme desire to learn
???General bidding and estimating experience a plus as well
