Parts Associate
Overview:
As a Parts Associate, you will be responsible processing customer and service department orders, loading and unloading freight and operating a forklift, (along with other duties as assigned). Starting wage is $20.30/hour
The schedule for this position is Tuesday thru Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm, and Saturday 7am – 3:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Processes customer and service department orders
- Picks, packages, and ships orders
- Maintains involvement in the Contamination Control Program and related parts procedures
- Organizes, cleans, and maintains the warehouse
- Delivers parts to the shop
- Recognizes difficult customer situations and determines when to get others involved
- Recognizes the proper bin sizing
- Processes emergency freight and stock orders
- Operates a Forklift
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Assembles hoses after training
- Understands the work schedule may include overtime and Saturday schedule
- Procures outside parts for service department
- Processes returns and warranty parts
- Handles incoming and outgoing freight
- Fills batteries, testing, and warranty when needed
- Inspects cores and determines core credit
- Executes Backorders
- Expresses professional business ethics & attitude
- Uses all communications tools effectively
- Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be self-driven and able to think creatively
- Strong people skills
- Customer Service skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome
- Positive attitude and welcomes challenges
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task is a must
- Computer knowledge and good keyboarding skills required
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and be on feet most of the day
- Good organization skills are essential
- Prior parts experience
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Having a CDL or the ability to get one is preferred
- Ability to recognize possible opportunities for changes to create safety, efficiency, and easier work related tasks for the team
- Experience operating a forklift preferred.
- Must be able to meet and maintain insurability of driving a company vehicle.
