Learn more about this agency ResponsibilitiesAs a Administrative Officer your duties will include but are not limited to the following:Prepare, formulate, and revise annual budget estimates for funding activities;Plan, stage, and time administrative services such as computer installation, configuration, maintenance, space requests, building maintenance, telephone services, property utilization, survey and disposal, etc.;Advise and/or train other clerical staff on office policies and procedures, such as the correct steps to follow in preparing correspondence, answering incoming calls, etc.;Coordinate and/or perform various personnel actions such as staffing, employee benefits, employee development, or payroll, etc.);Provide lead administrative support to implement and maintain such services as telephone changes, office moves, travel, time and attendance, and file maintenance;Communicate in writing to prepare correspondence, reports, justifications, requests and provide information to service employees and managers;Communicate verbally agency information, guidelines, and procedures to the general public/visitors, administrative and professional staff, and representatives of other agencies or divisions.Travel Required 25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.Supervisory status No Promotion Potential None Job family (Series) 0341 Administrative Officer Help Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. Suitability for employment, as determined by background investigation. Driver?s License: Selectees must possess and maintain a valid State driver's license at all times during their tenure. Uniform: Official U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uniform is required. Probationary Period: Selectees may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Qualifications Only experience and education obtained by 07/09/2021 will be considered.In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification.One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, or equivalent non-federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as 1) performing budget preparation/execution duties e.g. estimations, projections, financial tracking, monitoring, reconciling, and reporting; AND 2) purchasing of supplies and equipment; AND 3) acting as a key point-of-contact for an organization for all administrative issues e.g., procurement, records management, time and attendance, and travel; AND 4) providing guidance on and processing personnel actions. ORA master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a related field such as Business Administration, or Public Administration and that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this work. ORA combination of specialized experience and directly related graduate level education as described in A and B above that, when computed as percentages of their respective requirements, equals at least 100% when combined. Only graduate education beyond the first year is creditable to meet this standard.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education.
