Our Private Wealth Management IT Portfolio is adding a Project Manager to work to drive value for our largest line of business. The PM will assist in leading high profile, complex projects across the portfolio, while helping to facilitate successful agile delivery using a combination of Lean/Agile practices.The ideal candidate will have Agile experience along with experience facilitating cross-team planning events to help mature our product development flow, alignment, and predictability through transparency and identification/coordination of dependencies and risks. Candidates should have success in delivering IT projects and managing vendor engagements within a complex and rapidly changing environment working closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver outcomes. Baird IT is an exciting and fun environment that values respect for people, innovation, teamwork, and accountability where our client experience and outcomes drive our decisions.Learn more about Baird IT here.As a Project Manager, you will:Project Execution (40%)Effectively takes projects inclusive of all aspects from original concept through final implementationApplies agile project methodology on enterprise projects including planning, organizing, monitoring, risk management, managing budget, project closure activities, and enforcing best practicesManages the integration of vendor tasks, and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables as part of a consolidated project planProvides structure to milestones and leads the organization to achieve themStructures and facilitates effective meetings and ensures a focus on achieving the necessary outcomesNavigates group and organizational dynamics including identifying issues that may impact project outcomes and aggressively works to resolve conflict leading through roadblocks, and escalating in a timely manner to ensure no surprisesLeadership (25%)Leads teams and manages stakeholders effectively through influence and engagementEfficiently identifies and removes roadblocks to project execution.Evokes creative and innovative thinking from team members while helping them to bring their ideas to fruitionModels developing relationships across organization, leveraging them to work through barriersPossesses the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for changeExhibits extensive knowledge of current and emerging project management practices and applies them in projectsEvaluate the effectiveness of the project related structure of required vendors related to project outcomesFosters engagement in project milestones sharing key information to achieve outcomesCommunication (20%)Responsible for all project communications to leadership, the stakeholder community, and project teamProactively understands how and when to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfullyProject Scoping (15%)Build the required project structure including concept, oversight, communication, and the teamIdentifies and works with Resource Managers to acquire necessary team members in a matrix environmentCreates Project Charter, facilitates definition of scope, and milestone deliverables inclusive of vendor related contractsWhat makes this opportunity great:Ability to work on critical projects with a variety of teams and leaders, proving your ability to influence and make business impact through providing technology solutionsInformation technology is a core part of Baird's business strategy and plays a critical role in the growth and transformation of the firmComputer World Best Company to Work For with collaborative culture that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives while emphasizing teamwork and a strong sense of partnershipTeam of associates passionate about achieving great results for clients and give back to the communities where we live and workWhat we look for:A minimum of seven years of prior IT project management experience and three years in Financial Services preferred.Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or Finance is preferred.Demonstrates ability to handle multiple/simultaneous projects on an ongoing basisDetail oriented and possess exceptional organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and leadership skills, ability to influence without authority in a matrix environmentExperience in various project methodologies and project lifecycle/portfolio management - Agile experience is preferred#LI-RW
