Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We serve and help individuals and families in many aspects of their lives, helping them buy homes, open first bank and savings accounts, buy cars to get to and from work or school, and start or grow small businesses. CSBB is focused on innovating and transforming with the customer at the center, better enabling customers to engage with us how, when, and wherever they choose. As an industry leader in many consumer and small business areas - including retail deposits, debit card transaction and purchase volume, and small business lending - our primary goal is delivering for our customers.
CSBB Chief Administrative Office leads several strategic functions to drive CSBB's transformation and help its businesses improve customer experience, manage risk, and increase efficiency. Functions include strategic planning, process engineering, global delivery, project management, front line operational risk programs, conduct, employee initiatives, and resolution and recovery planning across CSBB. The team also leads enterprise expense initiatives and risk transformation efforts for CSBB.
The Project Manager 3 is accountable for direct and independent management of primarily high risk/strategic projects (occasionally moderate risk) and/or participates as a member of larger effort(s) to independently manage sub-program component(s) of high complexity under the purview of a program/project leader. Successfully informs and influences sponsors and key stakeholders to promote success of project prioritization, senior and executive leadership through times of ambiguity, and obstacle management. Seeks counsel of peers, stakeholders, and/or program/project leads in times of strategically complex or critical ambiguity and adapts planning, communications, and engagements accordingly. Incorporates multi-business and enterprise support operations organizational/ systems knowledge and navigation to anticipate change impacts. Ensures full understanding of project impacts then translates that into comprehensive engagement strategies. Performs all usual duties of a Project Manager in accordance with policy, methodology and artifact creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Project delivery through the management of the program/project's timeline, budget, scope and risks in accordance with Enterprise policy, methodology and artifact creation. May at times be assigned as a program manager.
  • Balances completion of required deliverables with providing thought leadership to project sponsors and driving the project team in a proactive and positive manner to successful outcomes for the business as one collective team.
  • Inform and influence sponsors and key stakeholders to promote success of project prioritization, lead in times of ambiguity or strategic complexity, and obstacle management.
  • Ensure risk controls are met, ongoing risk assessment and adaptation, and executing appropriate escalation strategies and implementation.
  • Lead, manage and motivate matrixed project teams focusing on different functional areas to build effective partnerships fostering an environment of flexibility, collaboration and adaptability.
  • Provide performance feedback to managers of project team members, regularly coach other project managers and project coordinators.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, project delivery, project methodologies, digital product/program management, strategic planning or implementation
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: coordinating, planning and executing through all phases
  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • 2+ years of Agile experience
  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
  • Ability to produce high level summary analysis reports in a meaningful and understandable format
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Ability to influence executive decision-making and successfully negotiate critical issue resolution related to program initiatives
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Experience managing complex projects in a large enterprise environment

  • Significant experience managing people, process and technology aspects of projects and programs including planning, execution and adoption of changes
