Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Technician partners with Supplier Quality Engineers to provide technical information, audit results, and evaluate Digi-Key supply chain objectives in support of process requirements and conformity. The Supplier Quality Technician is responsible for managing multiple small to medium size projects concurrently. The position's focus is to effectively plan, execute, organize, and report to project teams and suppliers to achieve a high level of continuous improvement opportunities and quality in delivering improvements that provide exceptional business value to the organization. This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

Must be able to...

• Manage multiple small to medium size projects concurrently
• Drive immediate supplier containment and resolution of quality issues utilizing disciplined problem solving, lean best practices and technical expertise
• Document data - Assist in the development and maintenance of the document and data collection systems both internally and with Digi-Key suppliers
• Quality Audits - Participate in quality audits that can include Internal Quality system/process audits
• Perform process reviews, first article inspections ensuring procured product meets specification requirements, process needs, and contractual requirements
• Qualify new supplier sources by performing Quality Management System first article assessments and special process surveys
• Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management reques t.

• Taking on additional responsibilities from Supplier Quality Engineer and Program Leader.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

• Typically, 1-2 years of experience working at Digi-Key with experience in Operational Excellence or seen as a key lead in driving innovative change in the various business functions.
• Strong understanding of the various functions of Digi-Key, how they work together as well as the industry Digi-Key operates in.
• Knowledge of Digi-Key brand and its principles.
• Understand internal and customer requirements and work cross-functionally to build quality into products, processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of the industry, organization and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Product Design & Development, Business Development, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience.
