The FEB MN includes Minnesota, Eastern North Dakota, and Western Wisconsin.This is a 1-year appointment in the excepted service. Recent Graduates may be converted to a permanent position upon completion of the Pathways Recent Graduate Program.At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:1. Coordinates, plans, organizes, surveys, and conducts analyses and studies of policy issues in the Federal community. Determines area for improvement and develops methods to improve the accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness of information and systems in place for disseminating information about government-wide programs and workforce issues to senior Federal managers in the FEB MN area.2. Increases emergency preparedness of Federal communities by facilitating planning, training, and coordination among Federal agencies to ensure continuity of operations (COOP) and assure Federal community awareness by providing timely and accurate communication of emergency information.3. Supports planning and implementation efforts required by national continuity policy for DOI devolution activities as part of the DOI COOP program and the Department's support of Continuity of Government (COG) programs.4. Coordinates and plans designated FEB Workforce Development and Support programs, including retirement seminars and leadership development.5. Performs a variety of administrative support functions for the FEB MN office. Responds to programmatic inquiries to the office that do not require the personal attention of the Executive Director.The incumbent is designated as an Emergency Employee and is subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations or may be required to remain at work during dismissal or closure situations. Emergency employees are expected to remain in contact with their agencies at all times during emergency situations.The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework with supervisor approval.Salary InformationGS-05: $37,914 - $49,291 per annumGS-07: $46,964 - $61,056 per annumFirst time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. Travel Required Occasional travel - This position requires extensive local travel. Local travel can be up to 40%. FEB Staff also travels in support of OEM activities and OPM meetings. Occasional travel, 1-5 nights per month may be required. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience (must meet all):1) Performing research to assist in the evaluation of management processes and functions, and examining documents and databases to support the development of program objectives and improvements. 2) Carrying out specified portions or segments of specific projects and/or studies. 3) Compiling information for incorporation into final reports and/or briefings. 4) Providing advice and support to management and program officials on the interpretation of regulations and guidelines and their application to problems.-OR-Combination of Education and Experience: A qualifying combination of post-high school education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (i.e., credits received beyond the second year) and specialized experience. A combination of specialized experience and education must total 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.*Additional information regarding Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.):#url=e4fVeterans also have 2 years of eligibility; however, eligibility can be put on hold based on active duty service.
