SIGN-ON BONUS of up to $5,000 may be available. Currently seeking an Oncology Specialty Coordinator with the Ambulatory Oncology Pharmacy department at the University of MN Health Clinics and Surgery Center.

This position acts as a primary resource for compounding of IV solutions, working as part of a high-performing, interdisciplinary team providing infusion and clinical services to oncology, BMT, and specialty infusion patients.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Coordinate pharmacy services to achieve effective and exceptional patient/customer service.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with providers, patients, families, insurers, other units and staff to maximize service delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure the pharmacy site is efficient and effective.
  • Provide administrative support, work with units to achieve overall goals, coordinate workflow, maintain records, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and anticipate business needs to assist in the growth and success of the business.
  • Maintain inventory with the utilization of Pyxis machines within the Clinics and Surgery Center.
  • Help identify and resolve patient specific medication related problems and issues in the patient's best interest with the pharmacist.
  • Acts as a primary resource for compounding of IV solutions which include but are not limited to chemotherapy, antiemetics, antibiotics, and fluids.
  • Prepare, label, and deliver medications and supplies accurately and safely as assigned areas and in accordance with all legal requirements and policies.
  • Maintain the pharmacy IV room according to USP guidelines, regulations of the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, and established procedures.
  • Coordinate ordering and inventory management, unpack/verify stock-to-invoices, and able to handle bookkeeping tasks.


Qualifications

Minimum Education:

E quivalent combination of education and related experience OR a Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field..

Minimum License/Certification/Registration:
Active technician registration with the MN Board of Pharmacy
