TITLE: Maintenance/Custodian

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in Maintenance and Housekeeping of the Association's common property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

On a daily basis, ensures all property common areas are maintained to a high cleaning standard while reporting any deficiencies to the Assistant Maintenance Manager. Coordinates the deep cleaning of the buildings with the Assistance Maintenance Manager. Performs routine and preventive maintenance and completes work orders as assigned.

Assists in the setup and tear down of activities in the ballroom and meeting rooms.

Follows all safety rules, immediately marks off hazardous areas with signs or safety cones, and reports safety issues to the direct supervisor in a timely manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Communicates effectively both orally and in writing

Knowledge of building housekeeping, cleaning chemicals, and maintenance

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is conducted indoors, outdoors and in the Maintenance shop; work outdoors in various weather conditions, particularly in high heat, and walk long distances; carry more than 50 lbs. and to perform other physical labor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

At least two years' experience in housekeeping or similar setting; knowledge of general building maintenance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Additional experience is a plus.
