Accountant- Property Management

Position Summary

The Accountant is responsible for performing various accounting functions including but not limited to preparing financial statements for the funds and investment manager, preparing investor capital call and distribution materials, handling day to day cash management and invoice processing, forecasting borrowing and capital needs, assisting with fundraising, assisting with investor requests, and assisting in assuring the funds' operations are within the guidelines of the partnership agreements, compliance policies and the regulations set forth by the Securities Exchange Commission for Registered Investment Advisors.

Responsibilities:

-Performs accosting activities related to maintaining complete and accurate general ledger accounts and posts necessary journal entries
-Ensure Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Real Estate Information Standards (REIS) and other applicable accounting pronouncements are appropriately followed and the company's books and records accurately reflect these standards
-Performs account reconciliation and prepares quarterly and annual financial statements for the Funds and the Advisor
-Assists with preparation of information and presentations for fundraising and potential investors due diligence requests
-Assists with both routine and ad hoc Investor and Advisor requests
-Assists in set up of new funds, including developing sub ledgers and processes based on the interpretation of fund legal documents and investor side letters
-Assists in the preparation of budgets and long term forecasts for the advisor and prepares quarterly budget to actual analyses for the advisor
-Monitors the cash positions of the funds and the advisor and initiates borrowing and paydowns on the funds' subscription lines as needed
-Reviews quarterly property distribution packages from the funds' investments, and prepares Investor capital calls and investor distribution packages as needed

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA, and a minimum of 3 years accounting/ financial experience
-Real estate accounting software, Yardi is a plus
