The Clinical Manager of Waste and Error Operations oversees and manages a team of nurses and certified coders. The Manager is accountable for the day to day frontline operations, financial savings, employee development & coaching, and short- and long-term strategy for business growth and expansion. They are responsible for meeting operational performance expectations including quality, process improvements, turnaround times, regulatory requirements, revenue / savings, expense, projects, client and implementation management. The Manager will monitor staff timecards, PTO, OT, metrics, inventory management etc.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team that generates revenue and savings
  • Reviews the work of others
  • Develops, innovative, approaches and strategies
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Capable direct client management
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions with broad impact on the business
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues, both within the team and other departments
  • Develops and leads projects that drive process improvements
  • Serves as an operational leader in client implementations
  • Participants in the development of business strategy
  • Provides input to forecasting and planning activities
  • Adapts department plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • May oversee work of exempt and non- exempt personnel
  • Sets direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to team members
  • Works with key business partners such as client services, finance, and UHC PI
  • Ensure client expectations are met relative to operational performance (ie. Service level agreements, state & federal mandates)

Required Qualifications:
  • High School or GED
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams
  • 3+ years of experience as a AHIMA or AAPC Certified coder with 3+ years of CPT/HCPCS/PCS coding experience or Licensed nurse with 2+ years of CPT/HCPCS/PCS coding experience (Professional)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications with strong computer skills (e.g. multiple systems experience, keyboarding skills, trouble-shooting IT concerns, etc.)
  • Healthcare claims experience
  • Client service experience
  • Outpatient facility/provider office setting experience
  • 1+ human resource policies and procedures experience
  • 1+ year experience of UHC platforms - COSMOS, ISET, Facets and CPW and/or working with medical terminology or coding
  • Previous CMS experience

  • Strong, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to exercise good judgment

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
