The State will retain the option to extend the work orders in increments determined by the State.

The critical qualification here is finding a local PM that has experience migrating to a Microsoft Azure cloud environment. They want someone who has moved business applications from their data center to the cloud. This project manager should have migrated complex and large enterprise applications from on premise to the clouds.

Someone with an AWS or Azure Certification would be ideal but not required, however State Gov exp is highly desired.

All shaded items are important, the teal is the focus. A PM with SAFe or PMI-ACP may also be a big plus.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ten (10) years of Information Technology experience
  • Five (5) years' Project Manager experience
    • A Master's degree substitutes for three years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree substitutes for two years, or an Associate's degree substitutes for one year
  • One (1) engagement in a Project Manager role working on a Cloud and IT transition, transformation, and migration, preferably with mass migrations technology

  • Ability to direct & manage program/project development from beginning to end
  • Ability to define program/project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Ability to estimate program/project resource requirements and participants needed to achieve goals including changes during where necessary
  • Ability to identify and manage program/project dependencies and critical path
  • Ability to establish program/project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and tracking such milestones and deliverables
  • Ability to manage changes in program/project scope, identify potential crises or issues, and devise contingency plans as appropriate
  • Ability to communicate program/project plans, expectations, updates, progress, issues, and successes in a timely & clear fashion when necessary

Description of Project

Client has embarked on an Intentional Cloud Approach which positions Minnesota to leverage the emerging cloud technology in a strategic way. Through our Intentional Cloud Approach, we are embracing a multi-cloud environment while providing some guardrails around certain services. Client is working with Microsoft on multiple cloud related projects and is seeking a vendor to provide a project manager to assist with the work. The projects are related to planning and executing on a large scale cloud adoption initiation.
