Structural Engineer

Thanks to a rapidly recovering economy our firm needs another energetic, quick thinking, hardworking engineer. We are looking for an EIT or PE with experience in designing building structures and building components. Experience and knowledge with REVIT and analysis software is essential.

Primary responsibilities include computer drafting, structural design, shop drawing review and field observation. Proficient use of Revit Architecture is required. Proficient use of Revit Structure is desired. You will work closely with the design engineers in producing construction documents for new building construction. Field observation of new and existing buildings, climbing ladders and walking on sloped roofs is also part of the work description. Previous experience or knowledge in the construction industry is beneficial.

Job Requirements:

• Perform structural analysis and design
• Perform structural engineering analysis on catastrophe claims and structural repair
• Reviewing and checking structural drawings
• Perform structural calculations
• Performing detailed structural analysis and design using structural software and spreadsheet software
• Prepare structural construction documents
• Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs
• Evaluate and design structural systems and components by applying knowledge of structural engineering
• Review shop drawings
