Position Description & Details:

Produce video content to tell the North Dakota State University story. The video coordinator will research projects to determine needs; set up and direct studio and on-location video shoots; operate camera, sound and lighting equipment; and transform raw footage into compelling stories through post-production, editing, mixing and graphics. The videos will be used to generate inquiries, engage prospective and current students/families, connect alumni and solidify community partnerships. In addition to the creation of video content, the video coordinator will manage a video database and the NDSU Official Youtube channel.

This position will assist with project management and will identify the purpose and intended outcomes of projects; ensure content enhances and strengthens understanding of institutional messages; coordinate with internal and external participants; and act as liaison between clients and other members of the marketing team.

Seeking a self-starter who can both work independently as well as collaborate with clients and other members of the creative team. Candidate should have a strong commitment to enforcing brand consistency and possess the ability to educate internal clients about upholding the university's high brand standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a variety of video content for channels including web, social media, television and Youtube
  • Create storyboards and plan video content
  • Operating lighting rigs and design light scenes
  • Manage preproduction, production and post-production editing of video projects
  • Encode videos for any required format and uploading to media sources
  • Collaborate with internal and external sources in the research, preparation and launch of new content
  • Consult with internal clients to determine viability of requests and the best course of action to produce and distribute video content
  • Organize a video production workflow, including the storage of digital video footage
  • Assist with project management of video/digital production
  • Continually develop new ideas for video marketing, test and analyze results
  • Basic ability to repair/maintain equipment involved in producing media
  • Commitment to upholding values of NDSU's strategic plan, especially regarding inclusivity and diversity
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A.S. degree in a related field, or the equivalent
  • 1 year of experience creating and managing video content
  • Proven skills with post-production editing software, such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud products (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
  • Specialized knowledge in non-linear video editing, videography, and video production
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with higher education marketing
  • 3-5 years experience creating and managing video content
