Position: IT Service Desk Administrator

Reports to: Director of IT

FLSA Status: Exempt


Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to serve on the IT team at the North Star Resource Group headquarters in Minneapolis, MN.

Essential Functions:

IT Support Technician Tasks:


  • Be the initial contact point for IT
  • Ability to Triage and Prioritize incoming incidents and requests.
  • Provide user support for computer software and hardware problems.
  • Update Helpdesk software to work most efficiently
  • Distribute and track tickets with other team members and analysis for trends
  • Serves on "first call for help" desk
  • Answers misc. questions about mobile devices and support
  • Backup support for all other IT positions which may include:
  • Set up new computer workstations.
  • Administer user accounts and security
  • Maintains and updates production systems
  • Maintain computers, printers, and hardware and software inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses / certifications or other knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Available for some evening and weekend work.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform all physical, mental and environmental job functions

Additional Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Continuum and PDQ
  • Scripting Skills such as Postscript
  • Active Directory
