About The Opportunity

Position Summary

To provide accurate and timely cash application to company accounts as customer payments arrive. Work with operating companies/credit departments to solve payment discrepancies and questions. Reconcile accounts receivable transactions to the cash received by multiple banks in multiple bank accounts in various currencies.

Essential to this Position

* Understand and perform accurate and timely application of cash receipts to customer accounts for Menashas locations.
* Coordinate the daily activities of the A/R associates to ensure daily cash application deadlines are met.
* Provide leadership, direction, and career development to A/R associates.
* Provide training to all A/R employees on processes and procedures.
* Responsible for assuring efficiency continuity of skills through cross-training.
* Calculate and enter month end journal entries for multiple bank accounts on various company books in various currencies.
* Respond to Business Unit inquiries for processing and system issues.
* Work closely with the ERP team in the implementation and testing of new A/R processes.
* Serve as an A/R contact with the bank for incoming funds.
* Provide all requested year end support to the external auditors to assist them in completing the A/R confirms.
* Promote an environment that fosters continuous process improvement.
* Enter and audit cash received to invoices in SAP with comparison to Customer Remittance, or interface file to ensure the customer payment is correctly applied according to predetermined terms and in the manner specified by operating company and/or credit departments.
* Research discrepancies in outstanding balances and misapplied payments with the credit department, involving bank personnel as appropriate.
* Identify and route all accounts receivable application exceptions to the appropriate business unit personnel/credit departments.
* Work with Menasha Corporation Operating Companies/Credit Departments to solve cash application discrepancies and questions.
* Provide assistance to division representatives, answering questions and helping with unusual situations as they arise.
* Provide Guidance to credit department personnel, corporate accountants and external auditors in understanding the Accounts Receivable process and its impact on the General Ledger.
* Reconcile multiple bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis.
* Understand technology and equipment that are an integral part of the accounts receivable process, including SAP, SharePoint, multiple bank lockboxes,interfaces from multiple banks in multiple currencies, and required record storage.
* Serve as primary contact with customers, credit departments ERP team regarding customer requests for new payment method, such as payment by delivery slip versus invoice, which affects cash application and customer invoicing. This includes coordinating the switch over, testing and developing cash application system and ensuring a smooth transition for the customer.
* Provide support to the AR Manager as needed.
* Assist in special projects within the department.

* Knowledge of finance, financial methods, tools and strategies
* Ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
* Knowledge of and ability to use processes, tools and techniques for exploring and evaluating alternative financial scenarios and results
* Knowledge of the functions, tools and processes needed to manage financial assets and liabilities throughout the organization
* Knowledge of the methods, processes, and tools for maintaining the books of the organization and preparing financial statements and reports
* Knowledge of financial and accounting applications specific to the organization

Additional Requirements

* Bachelor's degree required. Accounting degree preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
* Minimum of one year team leadership experience preferred.
* Experience with SAP preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
* Strong experience with computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience preferred.
* Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines under pressure situations.
* Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
* Excellent data entry skills.
