Summary of Role The Midwest East Region Pool Manager holds a critical role as the conduit of member-owner relations and business needs. The Regional Pool Manager exemplifies superior customer service and performs oversight for members in their region. This position is accountable for fulfilling cooperative needs and supporting regional dairy pool producers for ongoing organic milk supply in the region which includes Central and Eastern Wisconsin. Secondary emphasis is to support regional grower, meat, egg and produce pool needs and member-owners. This is a safety sensitive role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities o Perform annual, comprehensive on-farm visits with all active and confirmed member-owners within region. o Ensure member compliance with CROPP Cooperative policies and standards within region, including animal care, pasture, milk quality, and organic standards. o Host, present and support efforts for the in-region member meetings held twice annually as well as pasture walks. o Act as a conduit of membership information and communication from the field, back to the business. o Accurately complete all required member compliance paperwork needs. o Conduct on-farm audits, including animal care, pasture, feed integrity, and farm conditions. o Support milk quality excellence for your region by coordinating with CROPP's milk quality staff as well as the member's milk handler field staff. o Monitor member's milk supply production levels and guide correction to remain aligned with the supply management policy. o Evaluate and recommend prospective members to the business for further consideration. o Execute procurement and growth plans established by the Cooperative. o Participate at field days, workshop, conferences, etc. within the region, seeking partnership opportunities. o Cultivate and strengthen relationships in the dairy and sustainable agriculture sectors. Additional Duties and Responsibilities o Create quarterly Work Progress & Professional Development plans with supervisor. o Complete 25% of your work plan each business quarter. o Provide monthly expense reports. o Attend periodic trainings and meetings out of region as required. o Handle confidential information with discretion. o Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o A minimum of three years of experience within agriculture or related industry required. o Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science, Agriculture, or commensurate experience is preferred. o Practical dairy & livestock experience strongly preferred. o Knowledge of organic production systems and organic certification standards and requirements. o Ability to promote cooperative values. o Milk quality experience preferred. o Ability to work independently and self-starter. o Strong communication skills. o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database entry. o Strong presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. o Ability to travel with overnight stays throughout the year. o Ability to work after business hours and on weekends as needed.
