JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Tooling Engineer/Designer will use functions to design molds and fixtures using 3D CAD software. This includes determining and establishing specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. In addition to the above duties, the role will also communicate with vendors to obtain information and assistance and with customer engineers and co-workers to develop and improve designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design transfer and injection molds for rubber parts.
  • Design tooling, EDM electrodes and fixtures required to support manufacturing.
  • Confer with customer engineers to develop mold design.
  • Confer with co-worker technical staff to develop and improve designs.
  • Prepares 3D part models, assemblies and detailed drawings.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma - Associate's Degree or higher is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Tool design experience - experience in rubber and/or plastic mold design is a plus
    • If someone has tool design but not mold design experience, the company is willing to teach mold design to someone that wants to learn.
  • 3D CAD experience - experience with SolidWorks is a plus
