Oakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our University Woods (West Side of Madison) senior living community facility team as a Horticulture Assistant LTE. Our Horticulture Assistant is responsible for assisting in maintaining all aspects of the outdoor property[18 acre campus landscaped with parkland, gardens, ponds and prairie] , maintaining indoor plants, and assisting in the preparation work of gardening and horticulture therapy.
* This Horticulture Assistant LTE position is Limited Term position from May till the end of September (15 weeks) working 80 hours every two week 7:00am-3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Job Responsibilities of a Horticulture Assistant (Not intended to be an all-inclusive list) -Planting, watering, weeding, deadheading, pruning, transplanting, dividing, soil preparation and pest/disease monitoring for: bulbs, annuals, perennials, tropicals, shrubs, and/or trees. -Maintaining indoor plants, including re-potting, light cleaning/organizing plants, pruning, treating for inspects/diseases, watering and fertilizing. -Preparing for and assisting with resident garden groups and other resident garden activities. -Safe operation and maintenance of equipment such as: vehicles, weed trimmers, leaf blowers/vacuums, and landscape hand tools. -Maintaining a clean overall appearance of the property by collecting refuse and debris, and organizing outdoor spaces.
