Job Summary
Comments
The Supervisor of Diagnostic Radiology is responsible for supporting, assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, coaching and supervising, staff in these departments.
Essential Job Functions Title and Description
Advises Manager of significant and/or unexpected variances. Demonstrates an understanding of the budget and assists the Manager in keeping within fiscal parameters. Assists the Manager in requests for capital expenditures.

Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Serves as a resource for staff and physicians regarding policies, procedures, and practices. Conducts follow-up and takes action on unsatisfactory outcomes, unusual findings, special needs and requests.

Responsible for assisting in hiring, disciplinary action and terminations of employees. Supervises employee performance and progress, assists in creating job descriptions, and completes performance evaluations of employees within timelines.

Carries out time and attendance responsibilities and coordinates staffing and scheduling duties in accordance with established procedure and practices. Promotes continuous staff participation in the Peer Review/Peer Input process.

Effectively facilitates staff meetings, assuring staff is provided with clear, pertinent and timely information.

Develops and implements short term goals and is responsible for measurable outcomes and effective use of resources. Responsible for program and service development in response to both internal and external stakeholders.

Participates and assists in the process of equipment purchases for the Nuclear Medicine Department. Assists with research on new procedures requested by the medical staff. Maintains policy and procedure manuals and updates as needed.

Assists in the administration and administers various pharmaceuticals to the patient to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic result is obtained. Maintain accurate and complete record of all radioactive material received, dispensed, decayed, and disposal of.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
  • Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
    • All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
    • The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
    • The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

  • Frequent Drivers: Persons whose main responsibility is not driving, but drive daily or almost daily.
