BANKING/FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. REQUIRES RELOCATION TO DUBUQUE, IOWA.


The Segment Marketing Director is responsible for identifying customer needs and translating them into market leading products, features, services and marketing campaigns that drive profitable customer retention and growth.


PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Guides marketing strategy to achieve line of business growth, retention and engagement goals through development of products, services, and features.

2. Coordinates and develops marketing initiatives, promotions, and communications related to specific products, features, services, or other brand attributes.

3. Follows a cyclical process of financial review, forecasting, idea generation, opportunity sizing, business case preparation, product development, and commercialization.

4. Builds and develops consensus within the organization through frequent interaction with stakeholders including technology, operations, legal/compliance and member bank teams.

5. Builds relationships and consistently delivers projects with support of internal and external service partners.

6. Identifies trends and changes in customer and competitor products, pricing, promotions and behaviors, and keeps abreast of changing regulatory requirements.

7. Collaborates and defines the product strategy and develops a short and long-term roadmap.

8. Regularly and systematically uses data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making.

9. Formulates and executes effective go-to market strategies, drives market awareness and adoption.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has direct supervisory and administrative responsibilities.

1. Directly supervises a group of marketing and/or product management professionals.

2. Coordinates and administers assignments, monitors team progress, and maintains schedules.

3. Serves as subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, thought leader, career guide and mentor to teams.

4. Works with Heartland's Human Resource recruitment team to identify and hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions.

5. Provides information and on-going feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance, salary adjustments and/or promotions.

6. Addresses and resolves all performance concerns and issues in a timely manner.

7. Works with department staff on individual professional development and career development opportunities.

8. Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews. Completes and submits all forms associated with the review process to the department according to the review process deadline.


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

1. 7 - 10 years of experience in a marketing leadership role.

2. Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Communication Studies, Technology, Marketing, Finance, or Business Administration, or similar, MBA preferred.

3. Strong understanding of marketing strategy, product life cycle management and new product development.

4. Mastery of utilizing customer data and campaign performance to optimize acquisition, retention, and engagement programs.

5. Excellent presence and ability to work with senior and executive management.

6. Strong understanding of CRM and marketing technologies including MAP, Web, Social Media Platforms and Apps.

7. Innovator, trendsetter, and progressive thinker who can connect digital to all other aspects and drive growth.
