Cast Operator - 1st Shift

For nearly 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are currently seeking a Cast Operator to join our energetic and skilled Cast department.

At RLWS, the Cast Operator manufactures cast weights to tolerance through multiple processes. The cast weights are deburred using various methods and tools including air grinders, electric grinders, sanders, and other hand tools. The Cast Operator also runs the lathe to turn counterpoise weights, horizontal and vertical mills to mill weights and various cast components. The Cast Operator must also utilize drill presses to drill and tap castings. The use of basic measuring equipment such as calipers, electronic scales, manual scales, and sealing beams is required to ensure product quality. The Cast Operator must be able to efficiently read blueprints, routings and other manufacturing documents. The Cast Operator works in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Other duties as assigned.

This position will work Monday - Friday with the core hours of 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Some metal working experience (desired but not a requirement)

Skills

• Ability to read blueprints and other manufacturing documentation
• Strong math skills required
• Experience working with hand tools preferred
• Good communication skills preferred
• Manufacturing or metal working experience preferred

Certificates, licenses, training, or other job-related requirements

• No current restrictions prohibiting regular lifting of 50 lbs
• No current restrictions prohibiting infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs
