Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership in Madison, SD is looking to hire a part-time Accounting Assistant, to work 30 hours per week, to maintain accurate accounts payable and general ledger records. That is why we offer competitive compensation, generous benefits, and a supportive, collaborative work environment.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACCOUNTING ASSISTANTAs our Accounting Assistant, you are the "go-to" person for data at our company. We rely on the information that you enter and the resulting reports to be correct. You spend much of your time at the computer entering accounts payable data. With great attention to detail, you prepare, enter, and post vouchers; generate and run account payable checks; balance statements; create and post journal entries; allocate costs to various programs; and prepare reports.You are the gatekeeper of details! No figure, no matter how small, gets by you without being checked, double-checked, and recorded in the right place. We would not be able to assist our clients without you working behind the scenes to process payments and keep complete and accurate records to ensure compliance with the regulations, guidelines, and grant requirements.QUALIFICATIONSBasic knowledge of computer operation and software, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and accounting softwareBasic math skillsAn advanced degree in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred. Experience and/or training in bookkeeping is also preferred. Do you have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal? Are you self-motivated and able to work independently?
