POSITION STATEMENT

Responsible for directing, communicating, motivating, organizing, and controlling execution of company and supplier goals to achieve optimum sales on Banfi's brand portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Current duties may be changed if job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.

  • Responsible for managing Banfi Vintners portfolio of products within designated markets and distributors to achieve goals including shipments, depletions and distribution.
  • Responsible for executing the volume and profit plan for assigned designated markets.
  • Manages execution and compliance for all channels of trade.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels to achieve annual program goals.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all sales efforts in designated markets.
  • Manages distributors to achieve pricing targets and pricing patterns that support depletions and program periods in their respective markets.
  • Responsible for completing all state pricing filings with accuracy and within timelines outlined by each market.
  • Accountable for meeting annual volume and profit plan; and for managing and allocating trade spending and total sales expense with transparency. This includes field brand budgets and distributor held local funds.
  • Take active role in assessing distributor performance.
  • Manage and develop wholesalers' capabilities by implementing Banfi's brand strategies and objectives through effective execution of the Banfi Sales Process. This includes an active role in building monthly, quarterly and annual business plans by market, the consistent communication protocols, appropriate market activities
  • Demonstrate proficient use of data systems as a key component to planning, programming, reporting and processing for Banfi's brands. Included would be Banfi's systems of IDIG and Power BI, distributor data portals, Credit Claims and Concur.
  • Insure that Banfi's customers/distributors are managing Banfi's brand strategies to the trade.
  • Solicit sales in retail, on premise, and chain accounts in conjunction with the distributor.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of products, wine industry, competitive brands and markets. Conduct distributor training, in-store tastings, waitstaff training and wine dinners.
  • Cultivate cross department relationships within the company, especially between sales and marketing, to carry out Banfi's brand strategies. Adherence to executive directions is a critical part of the job.
  • Exercise appropriate behavior with Banfi's Suppliers, always representing supplier brands in the best and most professional manner.
  • Exercise the highest level of fiduciary duty to the company in all financial matters including budgets, promotional spending and every aspect of the Company's business.
  • Order all Banfi POS for each market.
  • Each of these areas may require working evening hours and weekends, when necessary, to accomplish the outlined objective.
  • Job execution will break into the following components:

60 % of time spent on sales activities, field based.

20 % of time spent on Distributor interaction (in market or at distributor).

20 % of time spent on administrative, preplanning, and follow up.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • A four-year college degree and/or equivalent
  • Good written communication skills
  • Good oral communication and interpersonal skills. Incumbent must articulate in a professional and personable manner to be a strong leader and partner to Banfi Customers and Trade. This would include virtual communication platforms.
  • Fluent knowledge of PC systems, working within Microsoft Office
  • Mathematical skills: Incumbent must have the ability to calculate and interpret financial data which effects everyday Banfi business.
  • Interpretive skills: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of statistical information.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use their hands and eyes for PC use; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The incumbent is required to stand; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; see, taste and smell wine products in particular. The incumbent must be aware that the job involves distribution of alcohol beverages and recognizes that the company in no way encourages excessive or unnecessary drinking of alcoholic beverages while exercising the duties of this job. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time, the approximate weight of a case of wine.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Current valid driver's license
  • Overnight travel as required and must be able to meet a minimum requirement travel schedule for assigned territories
  • Presentation Skills.
  • Public speaking. Sales Meetings, Training session, Wine dinners, etc.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • No DWI offenses or illegal drug use.
  • Must use for business a clean, late model, presentable and fully operational 4 door vehicle that reflects professionalism
  • Employee must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry and maintain at all times the highest ethical business standards and fiduciary duty on behalf of the company and its customers.
