Responsibilities

Assists in and provides administrative support with, the planning, designing, and furnishing interior environments of senior living residences.

  1. Assists in selecting the finishes for various residences. Presents final selections to the Director of Interior Services for approval.
  2. Prepares interior design boards when needed.
  3. Prepares specification lists for furniture and furnishings. Presents final specifications to the Director of Interior Services for approval.
  4. Assists in preparing furniture layout plans with approval of Director of Interior Services.
  5. Prepares FF&E Booklets for residence and Asset Management's future use.
  6. Prepares Fire Rating Booklets and distributes to all necessary parties.
  7. Organizes and updates the Interior Design Resource Library.
  8. Calls vendors to schedule update meetings.
  9. Provides accurate time records to the Director of Interior Services each week.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; and 2-4 years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a private vehicle for business use. Working towards National Council for Interior Design Qualifications and becoming a Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer.

Management/Decision Making
Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.

Knowledge and Skills
Has a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
