Position description

The National Account Executive - Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) will be responsible for:

* Developing and leading GPO specific account strategies, account retention and growth, collaborates and coordinates with internal MCL departments to meet strategic goals and client expectations.
* Helps to develop long-term business strategies with domestic field sales teams.
* Acts as an enabler of MCL domestic sales efforts by maintaining and growing our GPO relationships.
* Communicates the value of the laboratory to health system executive leadership which includes C-Suite, laboratory and supply chain executives.
* Develops health system relationships by leading MCL teams to meet customer and MCL strategic initiatives.
* Works within complex, highly matrixed organizations and focuses on building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with MCL's most important customers and partners.
* MCL point of contact for access and operational questions related to MCL GPO agreements.

Expected travel is 80% in this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare administration and three years of sales, business management, or health care industry experience. Industry specific knowledge of the GPO market is strongly preferred.

This position requires incumbent to work from an office in their home located near a major airport.

* A master's is preferred.
* Must understand client organizational priorities through application of client, industry, and competitive knowledge.
* Ability to apply financial and business acumen to create value analysis for strategic account and opportunity planning.
* Must have a high level of communication, management, and influence skills to engage in value co-creation and joint solution development.
* Ability to lead multifunctional client and MCL teams.
* Responsible for overall health system relationship and business outcomes.
* Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
* Decision-making and problem-solving ability, adherence to Mayo Clinic and MCL policies and procedures.
* Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling MCL Services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner.
* Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions.
* Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.

License or certification

A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, along with the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation. Up to 80% travel is required.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $2673.60-$4007.20 based on a full-time position. A fixed commission is also offered.
