Senior Staff Engineer, AutomationWork Mode:HybridLocation:Kohler, WI or Monterrey, MXOpportunityThe key role is to work within the Global Automation Team to develop, innovate, share and deploy effective automation systemsfor all Kitchen & Bath manufacturing/distribution processes to delight our customers and deliver incremental sales, profit and market share growth.Within 54 K&B plants worldwide, the Senior Staff Engineer, Automation will leverage the global automation scale to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost whilst ensuring local operational excellence. In addition, will be responsible for creating, selecting, improving, designing, and defining advanced automation processes within Kitchen & Bath Operations.Build the global strategy for process automation & testing that provides the best balance of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Drive and implement the strategy achieving standardized automation and ensure availability of process information through the Business Enterprise System.Working with Corporate Purchasing, define the best ways forward in establishing the standardization approach to leverage cost and service benefits.Provide insights, incentives and inspire the various Kitchen & Bath plants to move towards the global automation standard.Engage with regional NPD Groups to achieve Margin, Time-to-Market (TTM) and performance targets at launch and maintain margin and performance throughout the product life cycle.Participate in Design Engineering reviews providing "Design for Manufacture and Assembly" input as it relates to assembly and testing.Guide NPD teams to ensure assemble and test processes are capable, ready to support new product technology implementations.Support capacity planning, capital equipment recommendations and implementation partnership with the K&B plant Operations Engineering teams.Remain up-to-date on all automation and test best practices and recommend new approaches and tools.In partnership with various internal teams e.g. the Advance Materials and Process Development group, deploy leading technological advancements to achieve best cost and quality leadership.Develop selection process to qualify automation Integrators and Sub-contractors globally.Working with Finance, define the Financial Model for each plant to ensure ROI on automation investments.Define the servicing, maintenance, and support details in applying the global automation standard.Direct development of Automation Supplier Database & Selection (including tooling & capital)Direct delivery of Global Automation standard training.Ensure alignment of automation strategy through co-authoring White Paper and ACTs (capital justifications).Skills/RequirementsBachelor and/or Master's Degree, in an engineering or related technical field.Requires 8+ years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment where quality, innovation, and time-to-market are priorities.Experience and application of automation, design for manufacture, lean manufacturing, modern quality systems, and a strong financial awareness.30% travel both domestic & Globally.Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.Why Work at Kohler Co.?Kohler Co.'s mission is to contribute to a higher level of gracious living for those who are touched by our products and services.
