Position Department Location Opened Closes HORTICULTURE TECHNICIAN CALS/HORTICULTURE Madison Jul Aug :55 PM This Research Gardener position is an important member of the West Madison Agriculture Research Station and Dr. Julie Dawson's UW Urban and Regional Food Systems team in the Department of Horticulture. Primary responsibilities are to manage and maintain the Seed to Kitchen Collaborative organic vegetable variety trials, and to facilitate vegetable evaluation by regional chefs. This position involves hands-on outdoor garden maintenance and research plot management, collection of data on vegetable variety performance, coordination of research data collection from participating chefs, and working with volunteers and the public. This position supports the broader mission of the University to provide University based-research and information in agriculture, horticulture and natural resources to residents of the state.
