Best Buy Co., Inc. has an opening in Richfield, Minnesota for a Senior Engineering Manager to manage highly technical software and systems development work and QA activities, including stand-ups, iteration planning, coding, design reviews, and technical discussions, to determine technical direction. Work with product and creative teams, product managers, stakeholders, and other technical leaders within company to clarify software requirements, priorities, and deadlines. Bridge gap between business and technology to develop the right solutions for Best Buy, partnering with the business to define application roadmaps that will support our various ventures in this rapidly changing marketplace. Lead application developers and/or engineers and partner with HR in so doing, providing timely and clear work direction, delegating tasks to deliver outcomes, and providing in-the-moment feedback and coaching. Drive end-to-end solution architecture integrity, preparing solution blueprints, work plans, and the functional relationship with other enterprise applications. Create functional and technical application designs related to scale, performance, security, and usability for front-end and middle-ware systems for online retailing. Use and apply a strong understanding of agile processes, RESTful architecture, and other tools and technologies, such as JavaScript, JIRA, and Jenkins. Requires: at least a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, plus at least two years of engineering leadership experience 1) developing, deploying, and managing applications in a production environment with Nodejs, ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; 2) leading a technical team and technical initiatives in an engineering leadership role with direct reports; and with 3) DevOps automation using Jenkins, Artifactory, and public and private cloud platforms; 4) automated testing using Selenium and Jest, Cypress, and Mocha frameworks; 5) agile delivery using JIRA, Confluence, and Version Control Systems (BitBucket or GitHub); and 6) RESTful Architecture and system design.
