What is the opportunity?. The Head, US Wealth Management Operations will effectively lead all aspects of daily operations in the US and across all Operations functions. You will support the growth of the US Wealth Management business by improving the consistency and quality of client deliverables to clients, developing and executing local strategies that complement and enhance Global Operations, and overseeing change management efforts that improve quality and efficiency while reducing risk. The role has significant responsibility for regulatory and compliance matters including overseeing the receipt and delivery of securities and funds, safeguarding customer and firm assets, calculation and collection of margin from customers and processing dividend receivables and payables and reorganization redemptions and those books and records related to that regulatory supervision. Your emphasis would be to build an integrated operational environment that leverages scale, enhances efficiency and improves quality as part of the overall Global Operations mandate. The client base includes customized service models for RBC Wealth Management's Private Client Group, RBC Clearing and Custody, and RBC Capital Markets with securities processing across a variety of complex products and services. What will you do?: Partner effectively with enterprise, platform strategists, and key business and functional leaders to design, develop, communicate and execute a vision and strategy for US Wealth Management Operations that balances focus on client service, operational efficiency, and employee experience: Champion client service strategies cross-business to incorporate best practices for process innovations that enable better service and valuable advice, build out business process capabilities for growth, and minimize financial losses related to transactions processed. Participate in and/or lead various industry committees and interface with regulators and governing organizations such as FINRA, SEC, SIFMA and DOL. Shape workforce management strategy to ensure an efficient and effective workforce overseeing key US Wealth Management client and advisor experience impacting teams - spanning hundreds of FTEs including direct reports with emphasis on transformational and culture change, active sponsorship of change initiatives, accountability of senior managers and supervisors, performance management culture against agreed metrics. Shape workforce management strategy to ensure an efficient and effective workforce overseeing key US Wealth Management client and advisor experience impacting teams - spanning hundreds of FTEs including direct reports with emphasis on transformational and culture change, active sponsorship of change initiatives, accountability of senior managers and supervisors, performance management culture against agreed metrics. Provide direction, support and motivation through the RBC Leadership Model to the operations team and develop a highly engaged group of employees. Using all available levers including: recruitment, retention, development and motivation of talent and succession planning. Lead transformation initiatives that enable business strategy and increase efficiency, including the next generation optimization program, digitization and process improvements, Advisory foundational platform, expansion of securities based lending, Client & Financial Advisor self-service and digital enablement, use of statistics to plan/predict/adjust resourcing requirements and reducing the complexity of how work gets done. Oversee complex, multi-disciplinary aspects of US Wealth Management Operations to leverage insights from across RBC to deliver a superior client service level. Manage risk by ensuring the risk profile of processing and reporting for areas is consistent with RBC objectives, monitoring and assessing impact of new regulations, laws, legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, internal and external audit, and all regulatory review points, assessing daily risk reports by departments, anticipating and quantifying operational risks and recommending controls, and implementing risk reduction solutions. Foster RBC's culture of integrity through leadership actions that exemplify RBC values. What do you need to succeed?. Must-have: 10+ years wealth management industry experience including 5+ years in senior management. Series 27 license. Extensive knowledge of Operations optimization best practices and strategy frameworks with experience participating in and leading industry committees and initiatives and proven capabilities in Finance and Change Management. Ability to lead teams through transformational changes and experience implementing complex multi-jurisdictional changes. Excellent soft skills, including ability to build collaborative relationships, oral and written communication skills, problem-solving, adaptability and creativity. What's in it for you?.
