Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Production/Project Engineer to provide manufacturing and process engineering technical expertise and project management for our large caliber ammunition production programs. This position is located at Northrop Grumman's office in Plymouth, Minnesota.
This position reports to the Large Caliber Training Ammunition Engineering Manager and is focused on the manufacturing of large caliber ammunition components and subassemblies with both internal and external facilities.
Development and oversight of manufacturing processes for products in development to full rate production at Plymouth, other Northrop Grumman locations and at our subcontractor facilities.
Understand and flow customer requirements to subcontractors.
Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation for large caliber ammunition meets engineering and configuration requirements.
Communicate project status and issues to management and customers.
Support and/or lead failure investigations, root cause determination and root cause correction implementation
Conceptualize and implement continuous improvement projects.
Provide leadership presence representing our company to our customers and suppliers.
Implement and manage strong manufacturing engineering principals to ensure robust production processes and high product quality. Examples include SPC, Statistics, FMEA, GR&R, production readiness reviews, equipment qualifications and first article inspections.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering required.
0-2 years of manufacturing engineering experience in product development and/or production environments.
Experience working with customer engineering, vendors and subcontractors.
Ability to travel domestically.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with energetic materials including propellants and explosives.
Experience in project management, coordinating activities across functional groups and communicating project status.
Experience working in the defense industry and/or with U.S. Government contracts.
