Salary Range: $31,520 to $56,790 / Per Year Open Period: 3/10/2021 to 12/31/2021 Summary: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 or equivalent and above): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes. Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. Specialized Experience: GS-04: Six months of general experience and six months of specialized experience. GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level. GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level. GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Examples of Specialized Experience: GS-4: Basic experience on construction crew in the areas of utility construction, drafting, surveying and the construction inspection process. Knowledge of computer systems and programs, i.e., word processors, database systems and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of and practical usage of GPS systems to determine location and to verify location in relation to blueprints. Exposure to engineering drafting systems and their usage. GS-5: Experience in the installation of septic systems and drilling of water wells. Basic understanding of standardized septic system designing methods. Basic understanding and demonstrated usage of computer aided drafting software, i.e., AutoCAD, Civil3D or higher and personal computer software, i.e., Microsoft Office. Requires minimal operating experience with GPS survey equipment, electronic total station equipment, electronic data collectors and surveying software. Work with construction plans and specifications. GS-6: Experience supervising construction crews. Substantial knowledge of and demonstrated independent work experience in the area of drafting. Competence with computer aided drafting software, i.e., AutoCAD, Civil3D and personal computer software, i.e., Microsoft Office. Work with construction plans and specifications. GS-7: Licensed experience as septic system designer and/or water well drilling operator. Substantial knowledge of and demonstrated independent work experience in the areas of drafting and surveying. Competence with computer aided drafting software, i.e., AutoCAD, Civil3D and personal computer software, i.e., Microsoft Office. Skill and demonstrated experience with GPS survey equipment, electronic total station equipment, electronic data collectors and surveying software. Experience in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, construction inspection with a particular focus on water and sewer facilities. OR Education and Training: For positions at GS-4 (or equivalent): Successful completion of 2 years of post-secondary study that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-3 (or equivalent). For positions at GS-5 (or equivalent): Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-3 (or equivalent).
