Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) Position Summary: The Vice President of Product is accountable for providing national oversight for the development of our business and product strategy, program design and delivery frameworks for Community & State membership populations. This includes Medicaid and expansion programs that service individuals across core Medicaid including expansion populations with intellectual disabilities (IDD), foster care (FC) and criminal justice incarcerated (CJI) members, complex care programs serving our LTSS, FIDE and MMP members and dual eligible special needs plans (D-SNP) members. This leader is responsible for collaborating with enterprise partners to support alignment and delivery of our programs through Community & State local health plans. This includes leading the development and operationalization of new programs to address needs of our members, addressing program performance gaps and developing new programs and enhancements to existing programs to meet the organization's financial, quality and growth goals. This role will take a P view with accountability for all financial, operational and business levers to drive performance, growth, health outcomes, member and customer satisfaction. This leader will be accountable for enterprise-wide cross-functional teams across UnitedHealth Group, to enable successful execution of the strategy, roadmap and future enhancements. This role requires the ability to develop strong relationships across the enterprise with a focused understanding of the local health plan impacts and the ability to drive business goals through product design, program frameworks, shared and delegated services, innovations, implementation, and ongoing measurement and supports. They must understand how to define and translate complex business strategies into operational execution to drive results across the heavily matrixed shared services organization. This leader is accountable to deliver innovative programs that drive affordability, ensure quality and provide services to address our members and contractual needs. Primary Responsibilities: Convert abstract ideas and long-term objectives into near-term actionable deliverables Develop and deliver a variety of communications to internal (senior executives and employees) and external audiences Manage direct reports, develop talent and build an effective organization Build relationships and effectively interface with UHG constituents across functions and responsibilities including senior executives and marketing, sales, product, human resources, finance and operations departments Provide strategic thought leadership and analytical rigor to important business decisions You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant work experience 7+ years of program management experience including reviewing product performance against expectations and facilitating or influencing changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance in large complex organization 7+ years of experience in full ownership in design, development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring product performance with national exposure and material component of overall organization Must have traditional business training (ideally MBA) including business planning, market assessment, cost / benefit and financial analysis, etc. Direct experience with multiple Community & State Medicaid products, including operational and clinical experience Must have strong strategic planning skills, project management discipline and communications Exposure and awareness of suite of products, including cross segment integration and coordination Experience with direct ownership of and interactions with providers servicing Medicaid members Experience in state-based health plans, including LTSS, is a plus If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. The role is also eligible to participate in UHG's annual bonus and long term incentive plans.
