Job Summary
The Budgeting & Cost Accounting Analyst assists Finance leadership with yearly multi-corporation's operating budgets and is responsible for the maintenance of User Access and Account Relationship dictionaries. This positions maintains a working knowledge of Medicare regulations, collects and prepares financial and statistical support documentation, and assists the leadership in submission of the Medicare Cost Report. The analyst prepares and distributes the monthly statistical report and assists with special projects and functions.

The Budgeting & Cost Accounting Analyst assists Finance leadership with yearly multi-corporation's operating budgets and is responsible for the maintenance of User Access and Account Relationship dictionaries. This positions maintains a working knowledge of Medicare regulations, collects and prepares financial and statistical support documentation, and assists the leadership in submission of the Medicare Cost Report. The analyst prepares and distributes the monthly statistical report and assists with special projects and functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and maintains statistics used to allocate overhead costs to revenue producing departments using multiple step-down allocations. Annually evaluates and updates statistics.
- Develops, maintains and controls the cost accounting activities and services for Altru Health System. Serves as a resource for the development and fine-tuning of the cost accounting process. Performs all aspects of costing including the development and maintenance of costing statistics, calculations of costing data and financial analysis and reporting.
- Responsible for the verification and maintenance of all additions, deletions and updates to user access and the account relationship dictionary, for Altru Health System and affiliates, for the budgeting, cost accounting and management reporting system.
- Maintains and distributes the departmental and productivity reports. Provides support and analysis to managers for departmental and productivity reports. Advise managers on statistics information and maintains and distributes statistical reports.
- Collects and prepares financial and statistical documentation, working papers and questionnaires required for the Medicare Cost Report. Maintains a working knowledge of Medicare regulations and participates with the submission of the Medicare Cost Report.
- Responsible for the maintenance and refinement of the procedures/charge-level costs in the cost accounting system. Includes data collection and disseminates costing results to end users.
- Initiates various import downloads and audits, imports and troubleshoots subsidiary systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
- Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
- Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
- All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
