Summary This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) - Title 32, Position Description Number D and is part of the WI 128 FSS, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Air National Guard. Responsibilities As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) - Title 32, GS-0201-9, you will administer and accomplish functions of one or more of the following human resources programs: Career Enhancements, Customer Service, Employments, Relocations, and/or Readiness. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E-1 through E-5 (unless already assigned a higher grade within a FSS or CSS) Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC: 3F0X1, 3F2X1, 3F3X1 National Guard Membership is required. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0201-09 level, applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. Education Must have a high school diploma or a general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum.
