Job PurposeThis position is responsible for managing all aspects of a construction project including planning, supervising, and performing all phases of electrical work safely and productively while maintaining quality standards.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect multiple workers and foremen and larger crews.Interpret plans and specificationsMaintain quality standards.Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.Using Agile Construction principles and tools:Builds project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).Updates cost code information (JPAC).Updates and understands short interval scheduling (SIS), to include reason codes.Provides weekly cost code % completes.Create workflow and work process schedules coordinating manpower, materials, and vendors.Plan and schedule material deliveries.Create, maintain, and lead an injury free environment, taking corrective action when necessary.Guide and train sub-journeymen, journeymen, and foreman on increasing their knowledge and skills in a safe and efficient manner.Ensure that no work is performed outside the scope of the contract without proper change orders or supervisor direction.Coordinate installation with other trades, prefabrication shop and vendors.Ensure that correct tools, materials, and assemblies are in work areas in a timely manner.Provide estimating and jobsite design feedback to project team, including estimators, designers, and Project Manager.Demand that all team members on the job site exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic, taking corrective action when necessary.Complete accurate and timely paperwork and other documentation as required.Complete projects within budget and established time frames.Maintain clear, direct, open, and positive communication with everyone on the project including fellow employees, customers, and vendors.Ensure timely and accurate submission of employee timecards.Provide evaluations and feedback on Apprentices and Journeyman to Project Manager as requested.Respond to emergency calls as needed.Carry out additional job tasks or assignments as needed.Required QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of General Foreman experience in managing large projects (> $1 million) and teams or 5 years of Foreman experience in managing projects (>$500k)State Journeyman's LicenseApplicant must be familiar with a variety of the electrical field's concepts, best practices, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Plans, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems where applicable.Willingness to pursue self-improvement opportunities.Valid WI Driver's LicensePass background checkPreferred Qualifications5+ years of General Foreman experience in managing projects greater than $3 millionAssociates degree in Business Administration/Management or Electrical Engineering TechnologyCompletion of a 5-year State ApprenticeshipState Master's LicenseState Electrical Designer's certificationCompletion of a Foreman training program2+ years of experience with Agile ConstructionPhysical Requirements and Work Conditions Physical demands within this position include but are not limited to: frequent standing, sitting, walking, talking, lifting, listening, focusing, stooping, bending, reaching above shoulders, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces at job sites, using depth perception, working in different weather conditions, working at different height levels, lifting up to 75 pounds, and the use of hands to handle or touch objects or controls. Typical work week is over 45 hours. Overnight travel required 10 - 20% (5-10 weeks annually on average).
